The Best Koh Samet Hotel for Families
Huge, central, superb facilities, and good for families. This vast resort is divided into 3 ‘zones’. Sprinkled around vast lawns, cottages in the ‘Hide Zone’ are brightly-painted, separated by 10m-15m, and feature verandas dripping with vines. In motel-style blocks, only meters from a second pool, rooms in the ‘Hub Zone’ have a massive bathroom, extended alcove with a comfy sofa, and sizeable balcony/patio. They are all spacious enough for an extra single bed without feeling cramped, and many rooms have connecting doors to create Family Rooms (sleep families of four or five). The Infinity-edged pool in the ‘Hip Zone’ overlooks the beach, and another boasts a swim-up bar. Sai Kaew Beach has golden sands and noisy jet-skis, while the private beach is quiet but rocky, and any patches of sand are likely to disappear at high tide. And there is a tiny playground on a shady patch of grass. The poorly-signed entrance is along a back road, about 200m from the main street and another 500m from the ferry terminal.
