Review of Crest on Park Hotel in Melbourne.

Crest on Park Hotel Apartments – Budget-priced motel with apartments just meters from the beach and park.

With free parking on-site (and along the street outside) and apartments with kitchen facilities, this hotel very nicely caters for those with a car and/or staying more than a few days. It’s also perfect for families, especially those on a budget because the sofa converts to another double bed, and some apartments feature two bedrooms. Along a leafy suburban street, the Crest is only one block from a massive park with a playground and barbecue facilities alongside the beach. Only four tram stops from the center of St Kilda and fifteen minutes to the city center.

Crest on Park Hotel Apartments – The Location

  • Address: The name of the hotel refers to its address (46 Park Street) rather than any greenery in the immediate area.
  • Area: Quiet part of St Kilda West, less than 10 minutes from the beach (see below) and a shady park alongside with palms, playground, and barbecue facilities. About 4 miles from the city center and less than a mile from the main shopping area of St Kilda.
  • How to Get There: Taxis to/from the airport (18 miles, 1-hour drive) cost about A$80. Just as fast – and one-quarter the price – is the SkyBus St Kilda Express (every 30-60 minutes, daily 6 am to 8 pm). It drops off and picks up passengers at St Kilda train station on Fitzroy Street (0.4 mile, 10-minute walk).
  • Handy to: Beach and Luna Park (see below).
