Crest on Park – The Hotel

Crest on Park motel is located along a quiet residential street in St Kilda West, an inner-city beach area less than 6 km from the city center.

The Crest on Park is a compact motel block offering rooms and apartments that are ideal for families.

Accommodations face inwards and overlook the car park, which is quiet. Guests have access to free parking on-site.

The décor in the rooms and apartments is simple, but all are comfortable and spacious.

One attraction for families is that all rooms feature a sofa bed that can comfortably sleep 2.

Apartments come with full-sized and well-equipped kitchens, so they’re ideal for families and those staying longer than a few nights.

All types of accommodations are reasonably sized and good value, especially compared to the overpriced city center.

St Kilda, the prime inner-city beach area of Melbourne, is more developed and trendy than it was just a decade ago.

At the end of Park Street, cafés along Fitzroy Street offer appealing tables on the sidewalk.

Particularly charming, and certainly more affordable than some along Fitzroy Street, is Leo’s Spaghetti Bar.

Café Di Stasio provides an elegant setting inside and out, a contemporary décor, and an arty vibe.

Also along Fitzroy Street and close to the hotel, Domino’s pizza offers delivery.

Republica is a wonderful beachside bar and bistro about 800m from the hotel.

Near Republica, Beachcombers is a large café and bar with a terrace setting and family-friendly vibe.

The iconic Hotel Esplanade (also known as The Espy) is a few minutes from the Crest. It offers a shady setting along the sidewalk and live music on most nights.

The Espy is a perfect place for a drink and/or meal.

Also along Fitzroy Street, about 5 minutes from the Crest, The Prince (Prince of Wales) Hotel offers quality live music most nights.

Just a few hundred meters from the Crest are the glorious Catani Gardens.

Within the Catani Gardens, between the hotel and beach, is a sizable playground.

Also in the Catani Gardens are some barbecue facilities which can be used for free by anyone.

These gardens near the hotel are a lovely place to relax, especially during the hotter months.

The beach at St Kilda is wonderful for walking, admiring views, and enjoying the breeze, but the water is not great for swimming.

A boardwalk stretching along St Kilda Beach is popular with cyclists.

A pier extends from the esplanade into Port Phillip Bay.

Fitzroy Street, at the end of Park Street, is lined with shops and other useful amenities.

Luna Park offers numerous rides and other attractions for the family.

Next to Luna Park, the Palais Theatre hosts shows, concerts, and other events most nights.

Several trams link the hotel with the city center.

Between the airport and St Kilda, the SkyBus Express service stops near the hotel every 30-60 minutes. Check rates and availability: Crest on Park
