Conveniently located at the airport, PARKROYAL features spacious and comfortable rooms and suites with big bathrooms and great views, as well as a fitness center, heated pool, and jacuzzi.
PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport – Faultless service and amenities, just steps from the airport.
The PARKROYAL is perched on top of a multistory car park barely meters from one of the terminal exits. Overwhelmingly catering to airline passengers, it’s only forty minutes by express bus to the city center, making it a worthy alternative to overpriced hotels in downtown. Rooms are colorful, spacious, and incredibly soundproofed, considering they’re so close to the runways, and all feature blackout curtains. Worth a splurge are the suites with maximum full-length windows overlooking all the action at the airport. Guests can check-in for their flights and wait in the special lounge at the hotel, while others can pay for a half-day or use the lounge, gym, and sauna for a modest cost.

PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport – What’s Nearby?
Best Nearby Restaurants & Bars
-
Not a great choice. Outside the terminal and within walking distance is a McDonald’s. In the Holiday Inn hotel nearby (600m), the appealing Vargas Restaurant & Bar offers one of the city’s finest buffet breakfasts (available to the public) and hearty meals for lunch and dinner. Inside the terminals are numerous options, mostly casual cafés and bars catering to airport passengers.
Nearby Shops
-
Plenty of minimarts and souvenir shops inside the terminals, but nothing else.
PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport – The Hotel

Directly opposite the airport terminals, the PARKROYAL is impossible to miss.

Two skybridges (covered walkways) connect Terminal 2 with the hotel and carpark below.

Barely 100m from Terminal 2, the PARKROYAL is as close to the airport as possible.

The overall hotel design is contemporary but furnishings are still comfortable and functional.

The reception and restaurant/café/bar are on Level 4, above the carpark which is connected to the airport by 2 skybridges.

Café Airo is a casual area for drinks and meals opposite the reception desks on Level 4 of the hotel building.

At the back of Café Airo is the more sophisticated Airo Restaurant. It offers an Australian menu, often with French influences.

Between Café Airo and Airo Restaurant, the bar serves coffee, beer, cocktails, and wine.

Alongside the Airo café and restaurant is a special guest lounge. Guests can check in for their flights and wait here.

The heated pool is large enough for this sort of hotel.

At the end of the pool is a jacuzzi.

Next to the pool area is the well-equipped fitness center.

The business centre-cum-lounge is an ideal place for meetings and to catch up on work.

Rooms are well-furnished and more spacious than some rival hotels in the city center.

All rooms and suites feature long windows and are superbly soundproofed.

The décor is colorful and chic, and the desk area is substantial, which is expected because many guests are business people.

Each bathroom is particularly large and appealing.

There are so many windows in the expansive suites.

Suites are very spacious and are more suitable for business people than transit passengers.

Rooms and suites not facing the terminals and runways offer views of the airport buildings and streets as well as farmland in the distance.

The Family Rooms feature king-sized beds and 2 singles.

Views from all accommodations facing the 24-hour airport terminals are always fascinating.

The only restaurant or bar within walking distance of the PARKROYAL and not inside an airport terminal is in the nearby Holiday Inn hotel.

Vargas Restaurant & Bar at the Holiday Inn offers a substantial buffet breakfast (available to the public), as well as an a la carte menu for lunch and dinner.

The bar at the Holiday Inn is a popular meeting place.

The airport is connected to the city center and some inner suburbs by the Starbus shuttle service.

Another way to reach downtown in as little as 30 minutes, and to places like St Kilda, Southbank, and Docklands, is by the SkyBus Express. Check rates and availability: PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport
