Luxury Paris hotel in the 16th

Incredible Eiffel Tower view from the Shangri-La Hotel in Paris’ 16th Arrondissement.

Shangri-La – Once the residence of Napoleon Bonaparte’s grandnephew, is an historic five-star stunner of a hotel with phenomenal Eiffel Tower views. Celebrating its aristocratic roots, most rooms are fashioned in a 19th century Empire style, with neoclassical furnishings and tones of blue, white, and ecru. Many of the rooms contain luxurious marble bathrooms and king sized beds, with modern touches like flat-screen TVs embedded into the bathroom mirror or an in-room Nespresso machine for making coffee. Sitting just across the Seine from the Eiffel Tower, views are phenomenal. The historic salons, with their gilded gold leaf ceilings and imperial insignias, have been officially registered as historic monuments and contain some Bonaparte family originals. The hotel’s notable dining options include Europe’s first Michelin starred Chinese restaurant Shang Palace, which serves the best Peking duck in Paris.

Shangri-La – The Hotel

Shangri-La is located on a beautiful tree-lined avenue, just on the eastern edge of the city’s 16th arrondissement.

This historic building is the former residence of Napoleon Bonaparte’s grandnephew, Prince Roland Bonaparte, and is suitably elegant.

Stately touches are visible everywhere you look, from the ornate floors,

staircases, and statuary…

…to charming old-world fireplaces…

…and stained glass accents.

La Bauhina restaurant is located on the hotel’s main floor, just off of the reception area, under a beautiful glass cupola.

La Bauhina serves French and Southeast Asian fare for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as a vegan afternoon tea on the weekends and Sunday brunch.

Le Bar Botaniste, the hotel’s nature-inspired cocktail lounge, is open from 6 pm until 2 am daily.

It’s also less than a minute’s walk from the hotel to the Iéna Metro station, which services the #9 line.

The Trocadéro’s fantastic Eiffel Tower views are an easy walk west.

Opposite the river from the Trocadero (crossing on the Pont d’Iéna) is a popular spot for catching Seine tour boats. This is one from Vedettes de Paris.

A short walk east of the hotel will find you at the Palais de Tokyo exhibition space…

…with Palais Galliera – the City of Paris Fashion Museum, just across the street.

From the hotel, a 15-minute walk east, parallel to the river, will take you to Avenue Montaigne’s luxury fashion houses like Louis Vuitton…

…and Dior.

A great fine dining option nearby is L’Oiseau Blanc, the Michelin-starred rooftop restaurant at the Peninsula Hotel.
