Hotel Bondi offers mid-priced rooms, some with balconies, right across from Bondi Beach.
Hotel Bondi – Prime location facing Australia’s quintessential beach.
Considerably better than an average pub room, and one of the remarkably few options at arguably Australia’s most famous beach, recent renovations have made a significant difference. The simple budget-priced rooms are compact and open out to a shared courtyard with street views and partial sea views. The triple rooms are ideal for small groups, while families have a decent choice: the Mini Suite, with two double beds, a kitchenette, and a balcony; or the Family Suite, with one or two bedrooms, a kitchenette, and a lounge area. Understandably popular, the Premier Suites face the sea (100m away), with a window-side sofa and sizable balcony. But, of course, it’s all about the setting: on a corner along the esplanade at an iconic beach surrounded by cafés and bars. What’s not to like?

Hotel Bondi – The Hotel

Hotel Bondi is an iconic building that towers over everything else in the central part of the esplanade.

On the corner of the esplanade and Curlewis Street, the Hotel Bondi is easy to find along the central part of the beach region.

With surprisingly few tall buildings along the esplanade, the Hotel Bondi dominates the skyline.

Near the entrance to the hotel, the Curlewis Bar opens out to a street-side courtyard that is popular with locals and tourists for meals or drinks.

The Standard rooms are comfortable but compact, bordering on undersized.

The Standard rooms are decent enough, but it’s all about the location.

The standard rooms are ideal for those on a budget and care more about location than luxury.

The Standard rooms open out to a balcony shared with other guests.

Between the beach and esplanade is an extensive park full of pine trees, the only shade in the area.

The hotel is along Campbell Parade, the main street facing the beach. Lined with colourful buildings and lofty palms, there is no shortage of places to eat, drink and shop nearby.

The esplanade around the hotel is lined with places to eat, drink and shop, and offers some shade, unlike the beach.

Opposite the hotel, the Bondi Pavilion offers changing facilities for swimmers, as well as a couple of places to eat and shop.

A couple of cafés are attached to the Bondi Pavilion, which is alongside the beach, but almost all other places to eat are on the esplanade.

Also popular with cyclists and skateboarders, a walking path extends the entire length of Bondi Beach, which is about 1km.

The sand at Bondi is bleached white, but there is a distinct lack of shade. Check rates and availability: Hotel Bondi
