1. Bellevue

Bellevue is our favorite hotel for families. The large blue resort sits on a cliff above Bellevue Beach.

Beautiful Hotel and Spa on a cliff with spectacular views of the Adriatic Sea. At the cliff base is Bellevue Beach, a pebbly area in a bay that’s great for swimming and accessed by steps. There’s an indoor pool and jacuzzi and 2 restaurants and 2 lounges, one’s a wine bar. The Deluxe Suite has a living room, 2 bathrooms, a separate bedroom with 1 double bed, and a sofa bed in the living room (no extra beds or cots are available). They also offer free return transfers to the airport and it’s a 10-minute walk to the historical center.

2. Rixos Premium

On the southwest side of Bellevue Beach bay is Rixos Premium, our favorite hotel with views. You can access the beach down stairs from the hotel. Select rooms offer an additional bed for a fee, and all rooms have views of the park or sea. There are 3 bars and 3 restaurants, a spa, 2 swimming pools (one outdoors with a sunbathing deck with sunbeds next to the water), a fitness center, a casino, and they offer babysitting.

3. Royal Neptun

Peaceful hotel offering tidy, 2-bedroom, skyline sea view suites with balconies (up to 6 people) with mini-bars, tea & coffee making facilities and seating & living spaces. Has a cocktail bar, 3 restaurants, swimming pools, spa & sauna and a lovely outdoor breakfast terrace. There’s no real beach here (craggy rocks). It’s a 10-15 minute bus ride into town. This hotel is part of a hotel complex that includes Hotel Neptun, Hotel Ariston, Royal Palm Hotel, Royal Princess Hotel and the Royal Blue Hotel.

4. Grand Hotel Park

It’s a short walk from Grand Hotel Park to our favorite beach in Dubrovnik, Sunset Beach, with pebble sand and a kid’s slide into the bay. Nearby are boat trip agencies and the pedestrian path (lined with excellent restaurants and shops). The resort is in Lapad, a short bus ride from the town center, and has 3 swimming pools, family rooms, a gym, and a spa.

5. Dubrovnik Palace

Another excellent family resort in Lapad and a short bus ride from the town center is Dubrovnik Palace. Situated on the coast, think more rocky than sand, and next to a scuba diving center. The rooms have views of the Elaphite Islands and some have balconies. There are 4 restaurants, a pool bar, 2 swimming pools, spa, airport shuttle, and they offer a variety of accommodations from rooms with twin beds or sofa beds to one-to-two bedroom suites.

6. Splendid

Splendid is in Lapad along the rocky coast and a short bus ride from the town center. The hotel provides places to sit by the coast, jump off rocks, and swim in the sea. The hotel has a restaurant overlooking the bay, it’s within walking distance to the promenade, and next door is a wellness center. The Triple Room with Balcony and Sea View offers a single and double bed, with cots available.
