Melina Mercouri Café

The lovely Melina Mercouri Cafe is located right underneath Melina Mercouri’s former apartment…

…on a quiet, charming street in central Plaka.

The cafe has a cozy and casual atmosphere and features lots of memorabilia from Mercouri’s life.

Large windows let in a lot of natural light.

The cafe is very popular with locals.

Every wall, nook, and cranny here is dedicated to Mercouri.

Even the menu is part photograph album.

The kitchen is located at the end of the restaurant, just past the bar.

The bar offers a large selection of wines and cocktails.

Apart from traditional Greek meze, meat, seafood, pasta, and vegetarian dishes, a variety of sweet and salty crepes are a specialty here.

Coffee and desserts, too.

Beside the cafe is a large outdoor seating area with many tables.

Chairs and small tables have been set up on both sides of the entrance for guests to enjoy a coffee, drink, or smoke while watching the world go by.
