Review of O Thanasis restaurant in Athens

O Thanasis is one of the best places in Athens to enjoy gyros and souvlakis.

O Thanasis is renowned throughout the city for its traditional and affordable gyros, souvlakis, kebabs, and a few vegetarian dishes. This family-friendly restaurant was started by 2 brothers in 1965 within a century-old former Naval Officer’s home, which today offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The place is casual and fun, and the staff is extremely friendly. Even though it is always packed, reservations are not required as tables are turned around very quickly. Monastiraki Square and metro station are just steps away.
