Travel Insurance for Greece

Q. Do I need travel insurance for Greece and the Greek Islands?

Travel health insurance is as much about peace of mind as the actual benefit. Myself, I always get some before a trip – but that’s just me.

The big thing I always want covered by my travel insurance for the Greek Islands (and islands like Santorini and Mykonos) is emergency evacuation coverage. (Different plans, cover different options so be sure to compare travel insurance plans and read the fine print.)

Q. What is the best travel insurance for Greece?

World Nomads – My favorite travel insurance company. You can sign up any time (even during a trip). They have good rates and they’re easy to deal with. For what it’s worth, every travel insurance claim I’ve ever submitted was dealt with quickly, and fully paid for. (The claims I’ve made have been for my kids. Head injuries in Korea, dog bites and rabies vaccines in Indonesia.)

Q. What is the cheapest travel insurance for Greece?

The difference with most plans is what is covered so be sure to compare plans and what is offered. Insuremytrip is good at comparing different travel insurance companies and plans.

Honestly. It’s so cheap considering what you get covered, just buy it and then you don’t have to worry. It’s a very small percentage of what you’re paying for your entire trip.

Most important thing when buying travel insurance: Whatever you choose for travel insurance be sure to read the terms and conditions of the policy and what is covered, and what is not.

Beyond taking a look at World Nomads (I was under the impression that they would cover a trip like this) I don’t know what to recommend. Sorry, wish I could be more help. Good luck.
