The main Mykonos ferry port (also called Tourlos or the New Ferry Port) is 2 km north of Mykonos Town. The port is well served by bus and Sea Bus (water taxi) which stop a short walk from the ferries. Tickets to Athens can be purchased at the port but I recommend buying ferry tickets in advance.
Ferries from Mykonos to Athens (Piraeus)
The Piraeus Ferry Port (about 30 minutes by metro or taxi from central Athens) is the main arrival point for ferries from Mykonos. The trip takes 2.5 to 3.5 hours by high-speed catamaran (e.g., Seajets) and 4 to 5 hours by the larger, conventional car ferries (e.g., Blue Star). Most ferries on this route also stop in Syros or Tinos.
Important: All ferries from Mykonos depart from the New Port (Tourlos), located about 2km north of Mykonos Town. To get from Mykonos Town to the New Port, the Sea Bus (water taxi) is the best option (€2, runs every 30 mins). The Uber app is the best way to call a taxi in Mykonos.

• Best seats: I recommend Business or VIP if available (nicer seats in a more relaxed setting)
• When to book tickets: 2 to 3 months in advance (any sooner and some ferry routes might not be released yet, any later and some ferries could be sold out)Example Mykonos to Piraeus Ferry Schedule
