The good value, great quality Relais Le Clarisse is one of our favorite affordable hotels in Rome.

1. Generator

Modern accommodations with an on-site bar and cafe located 1.5 km from the Colosseum and 800m from the Roma Termini train station. While rooms do not have TVs, shared rooms sleep up to 6 guests with lockable storage areas and reading lights, and private rooms are available with en-suite bathrooms. Amenities include bar and lounge.

2. Hotel Des Artistes

Great budget hotel close to the train station and with a nice roof terrace. Located a 2-minute walk (150m) to Castro Pretorio subway station and an 8-minute walk (600m) to the Baths of Diocletian. Rooms have a variety of bedding configurations and feature antique artwork, and a breakfast buffet is available daily for a fee.

3. YellowSquare

Located 500m from The Baths of Diocletian, this hostel features shared and private rooms with a co-working space, an all-day restaurant and bar, an escape room, laundry facilities, and a hair salon onsite. Room amenities include lockable storage and air conditioning, private rooms have ensuite bathrooms, and the the Castro Pretorio subway station is just a couple of minutes (250m) away.

4. Funny Palace Hostel

Within walking distance of several restaurants and Roma Termini Station (400m), this hostel offers complimentary breakfast at a nearby cafe and laundry facilities on-site. Dorm rooms and private rooms are available, and some rooms have private bathrooms, desks, and TVs.

Not quite a budget hotel but if you’re looking for a good-value splurge in my favorite Rome neighborhood (Trastevere), then this is a great choice. It’s a historic hotel with a courtyard garden within a short walk of several notable cathedrals, museums, and historical sites in addition to a variety of restaurants and bars. A full breakfast is served daily, and concierge services and ironing facilities are available at all times. The hotel is pet-friendly, and some rooms feature kitchenettes and can accommodate up to 6 guests.
