Celestia Grand in Santorini
Celestia Grand in Santorini circa 2013, when the Kardashians visited. You can see the 5 original villas with private pools in the foreground: Sapphire (where the Kardashians stayed), Artemis, Aphrodite, Iantha, Erotas. There are now 2 more villas, the Junior Villa and the Superior Honeymoon Villa. Behind the villas is Volcano View Hotel, now a sister hotel to Celestia Grand.
The Kardashians stayed at Celestia Grand (back when it was part of neighboring Volcano View Hotel) in Santorini during their vacation in Greece. It’s an awesome luxury villa collection, located south of Fira (about a 30 minute walk into town or an easy ride with a taxi or their complimentary shuttle). Views are incredible. A perfect spot for a honeymoon or romantic getaway, though some people might find it a little too far from the shops, restaurants, and nightlife of Fira. Read our full review of Celestia Grand here.
The Sapphire Villa at Celestia Grand
Outside the Sapphire Villa at Celestia Grand. This is the particular villa the Kardashians stayed in.
The Sapphire Villa is the top-tier villa at Celestia Grand and offers the best sunset views on the property.

The main entrance opens up to an elegant living room.
Downstairs you’ll find the master bedroom with direct access to the pool.
The master bathroom offers a marble, dual sink and a large shower. The steps lead to a cave-style, swim-out bath with hydromassage jets.

The second bedroom is also on the ground floor with direct pool access.
The second bathroom offers a walk in shower and marble sink.

The Villas at Celestia Grand
The hotel has 6 more villas onsite, 7 in total. One of the newer villas that opened after the Kardashians’ visit is the Superior Honeymoon Villa, which offers spectacular sunset caldera views, an infinity pool, and a grand terrace.
The other newer villa is the Junior Villa, which has a heated, jetted plunge pool rather than a swimming pool.
The Junior Villa is the smallest onsite, but it still offers plenty of space and the same luxury amenities as the larger villas.

Aphrodite Villa offers a stunning pool on with a caldera view. Volcano View Hotel is seen here in the back left. That’s Athinios Ferry Port in the back right.

Like the Sapphire Villa, the Aphrodite Villa boasts a cave-style, swim-out, jetted bath.
The Ianthi Villa has a similar terrace layout as Aphrodite. Here is the pool and jacuzzi on the caldera’s edge.
The living room of the Ianthi Villa offers contemporary style and Cycladic design.

Where is the best place to stay in Santorini
Celestia Grand is wonderful but a little isolated and without much within walking distance. These are my favorite places to stay in Santorini and these are my favorite hotels.
Where did the Kardashians stay in Mykonos?
The Kardashians went to Santorini and Mykonos during their summer vacation in 2013. When in Mykonos they stayed at My Mykonos Retreat located near Ornos Beach and about a 10 minute drive to Mykonos Town.
Is it walking distance from Volcano View to Fira? Is it easy to catch the bus near the hotel?
It’s about a 30 minute walk and I don’t find it particularly enjoyable. Not terrible but it’s along a busy, sort of barren road and though you’re close to the edge it’s not like walking along the caldera path north of Fira. There’s no shade either. Buses do pass at a regular clip from the southern towns heading to Fira but you could still easily wait 15 or 20 minutes for a bus. The hotel does have a free shuttle but arranging rides with it can be a hassle (not just here, any hotel). Like many hotels outside of the main towns it works well if you just want to spend time by the pool enjoying the view (no harm in that) and/or have a rental car. But if you want to enjoy the atmosphere of the caldera towns (recommended) then stay in one of those towns.
