Naxos is the largest island in the Cyclades. Naxos Town (Chora), the ferry port, and most of the island’s popular beach resorts are on the west coast. Agios Georgios is beside Naxos Town, followed south by Agios Prokopios, Agia Anna, Plaka, Mikri Vigla, and Kastraki. The mountain villages of Halki, Filoti, and Apeiranthos are inland, while the quieter north and east coasts require more driving.

Naxos Main Towns and Beaches

Naxos Town is compact and easy to explore on foot. Ferries arrive at the waterfront beside the Old Town, with the Portara just north of the port and the Kastro directly uphill. Agios Georgios Beach is a short walk south of the center, while buses for Agios Prokopios, Agia Anna, Plaka, and the inland villages leave from the bus station directly in front of the port.
