Stylish, stone-built suites with perhaps the best views on the island. Fourteen roomy apartments feature bare stone walls and simple rustic furnishings. The shared-use pool has a little bar; breakfast, lunch, and dinner are offered in the in-house restaurant. Located high up on the ridge between Livadi and Psili Ammos, looking across to Hora and down to the port of Livadi. It’s a 5-minute taxi ride to Livadi and 3 minutes to sandy Psili Ammos beach.

2. Aliktypo Studios – Livadi

Affordable luxury down a leafy lane just outside of the main port area. This tidy collection of rooms, studios, and sizeable maisonettes offer up to 50 sqm living space with fully equipped kitchens. Decorated in pleasing pastel hues of blue, brown, light green and cream, rooms have their own balconies – some with views to Chora. The beach is a 1-minute walk away, and the port is just 5 minutes by foot.

3. Coralli Seaside Resort – Livadakia

Deluxe and Family bungalows sleep family of 4 and feature a kitchen with fridge, ac, small patio, and private entrance. There’s a nice pool, friendly restaurant, and a wonderful beach. It’s a pleasant 10-minute walk to the ferry port and restaurants of Livadi.

4. Coco-Mat Eco Residencies – Vagia

Former miners’ residences from 1910 are now plush and relaxing suites, with views over one of Serifos’ more gorgeous beaches. One-bedroom residences range in size from 35-50 sqm, with a living area on the upper level and a lower level bedroom. Two-bedroom residences are 90 sqm. All are equipped with the famous Coco-Mat sleeping systems, and feature terraces, kitchens, Wi-Fi, aircon, and ceiling fans. A dedicated walkway takes guests to the beach below, where the hotel provides loungers and umbrellas.

Luxurious, spacious, and convenient suites, situated no more than a five-minute walk from the port. Airy and well-equipped stone cottages with views over Ganema beach, located in one of Serifos’ quieter yet very accessible corners. The upper floor living area of each cottage leads out onto a shaded porch. Kitchens are equipped with basic breakfast items and cooking supplies. Books, hi-fi equipment and Wi-Fi is available for guests. Bedrooms are downstairs (where it is cooler) and are smallish and simple, yet elegant. There is a nearby beach taverna, but these are self-catered units; because it’s a 20-minute drive back to Livadi for supplies, a car is a necessity.

A quiet and sizeable rental cottage, set on a hill with a view. The writer’s home has three compact bedrooms (plus one sleeping spot on a mezzanine platform), a fully equipped kitchen, and relaxed living areas including a desk surrounded by books. The outside area is expansive with more seating areas and even a wood oven to cook in. Minimum stay one week, and wi-fi is included. A car or motorbike is a good idea for shopping forays to Livadi.
