Santorini Private Pools: My Tips

A private pool or jacuzzi can make a Santorini hotel feel truly special, especially if it comes with a caldera view. But the wording is confusing. In Santorini, “private pool” might mean a small plunge pool, a heated hot tub, a cave-style pool, a jetted tub, or a proper swimming pool. Always check the exact room category, not just the hotel.

1. What does “private pool” actually mean in Santorini?

• Private means private use, not full privacy. The pool is for your room only, but it may still be visible from nearby terraces, hotel paths, restaurants, or the public caldera path above.
• Caldera hotels are stacked down the cliff. This is what creates the views, but it also means terraces and pools are close together.
• Check your exact room category. One suite can have a heated plunge pool and a great view, while another at the same hotel has a small jacuzzi, partial view, or less privacy.
• The most private pools are outside the busiest caldera villages. Look at villas, top suites, Akrotiri, Pyrgos, Finikia, and hotels between Imerovigli and Oia.
• Best private-pool hotels for real privacy: Santorini Sky in Pyrgos, Aenaon Villas between Imerovigli and Oia, Canaves Epitome in Oia, Santorini Heights in Pyrgos, and Santorini Princess Presidential Suites in Akrotiri. These are not always the most classic caldera-village stays, but they offer more space and fewer overlooking neighbors.

2. Should I book a heated pool?

• Usually, yes, especially in April, May, early June, late September, and October.
• Santorini can be cool and windy, especially in the evenings, and an unheated plunge pool can be too cold for more than a quick dip.
• In July and August, heating matters less, though shade and wind can still make small pools cool in the morning or evening.
• If a private pool is a major reason you are booking the room, I’d strongly prefer heated unless you are traveling in peak summer.

3. What’s the difference between a plunge pool, cave pool, hot tub, and jacuzzi?

• Plunge Pool: A small pool for sitting, cooling off, and enjoying the view. Not large enough for swimming. It may or may not be heated.
• Hot Tub or Jacuzzi: Heated and jetted. Best for spring, fall, and evening use. Some are outdoor tubs, while others are indoor or cave-style.
• Cave Pool: A pool built partly or fully into the volcanic rock. It can feel atmospheric and more private, but it may be darker, smaller, and less open to the view.
• Infinity Pool: The most photogenic option, especially with a caldera view. But an infinity edge does not guarantee size, heat, or privacy.
• Indoor Jacuzzi: Sometimes this means a real spa-style hot tub. Sometimes it means a jetted bathtub that you fill and drain like a normal bath. Read the description carefully.

4. Is a private pool worth it in Santorini?

• For a honeymoon, anniversary, or special trip, yes, if the budget allows.
• Santorini is one of the few places where your hotel terrace can be a major part of the trip. A caldera view, a glass of wine, and your own pool or hot tub can be worth the splurge.
• I would not pay a huge premium for a private pool with no view, no privacy, and no heating. In that case, book a better hotel, better village, or better caldera-view terrace without the pool.
• The best Santorini private-pool rooms combine three things: view, privacy, and usable water temperature.

Best Areas in Santorini for Private Pool Hotels

• Oia: Best for luxury hotels, honeymoon suites, famous views, boutique shopping, and the classic Santorini setting. Many rooms have hot tubs or plunge pools, but privacy varies a lot. Sunset view and caldera view are not always the same thing.
• Imerovigli: Best for caldera views and romantic private-pool suites. Imerovigli has the most dramatic views on the island and is quieter than Oia and Fira.
• Firostefani: Best for a quieter central stay with easy access to Fira. Private pools and hot tubs here often come with classic volcano views, though terraces can be close together.
• Fira: Best for private pools with restaurants, nightlife, shopping, and buses nearby. Choose Fira if convenience matters as much as the view.
• Akrotiri: Best for space, privacy, and better value. A car is strongly recommended, but you get larger terraces, quieter views, and less crowd pressure.
• Pyrgos and inland villages: Best for privacy and larger pools without the caldera-village crowds. Views are panoramic island or sea views, not classic caldera-cliff views.
• Beach hotels: Best for families and space. Private pools here are larger and more usable, but you lose the caldera setting.

Oia Hotels with Private Pools

Oia has the most famous private-pool hotels in Santorini. It is also the most expensive and crowded village, so read room descriptions carefully. A pool facing the caldera is different from a sunset-facing pool, and many Oia terraces are visible from nearby hotel paths or public lanes.

1864 The Sea Captain’s House – Oia

The Cave Suite features an indoor hot tub. This is best for travelers who want a small, historic Oia stay rather than a full resort with a large outdoor pool.

270 Oia’s View – Oia

All villas feature private pools. Villas range from one to four bedrooms and accommodate up to ten people. This is a good option for families and groups who want space near Oia, though it is not right in the village center.

Ambition Suites – Oia

All suites offer private outdoor jacuzzis on their own balconies with caldera views. Small, romantic, and best for couples who want Oia without a large-hotel feel.

Andronis Arcadia – Oia

All suites and villas feature private, heated, outdoor infinity pools. Three and Four-Bedroom Villas add an outdoor hot tub. The six-bedroom Eden Villa adds a second heated private pool. Facilities include two large pools with food and drink service and one kids pool with a lifeguard at the kids club. This is resort-style Oia, better for space and sunset views than classic caldera-cliff drama.

Andronis Boutique Hotel – Oia

All suites feature private outdoor jacuzzis. The Executive Suite, Signature Suite, Prestige Suite, and Water Retreat Suite also have private plunge pools; the Cave Pool Suite features a 40-square-meter heated cave pool. Guests can also enjoy the hotel’s two shared pools, one heated and one cool, with service from the pool bar.

Andronis Luxury Suites – Oia

All accommodations feature indoor or outdoor private jacuzzis, private outdoor infinity pools, or some combination of the above. One Honeymoon Suite has an indoor cave plunge pool. A shared heated infinity pool overlooking the caldera is also available for all guests. One of Oia’s top splurge choices.

Anemomilos Hotel – Oia

Superior Studios have indoor or outdoor private jacuzzis. The Villas Avra and Armonia have outdoor private jacuzzis with caldera views. Villas Gaia and Hydor share a semi-private jetted pool with caldera views. The shared main pool has an attached kids pool. A good-value Oia option, but check your exact view.

Armenaki – Oia

All suites have a private, heated plunge pool or hot tub on a private terrace with caldera views. The heated plunge pool in the Armenaki Residence has an infinity edge. Most pools and hot tubs are open to the sun, but the Cave Suite has a partially covered cave-style pool plus a hammam inside. There is also a non-heated shared main pool.

Aspaki by Art Maisons – Oia

Honeymoon Suites and Exclusive Suites have private outdoor jacuzzis, while Cave Pool Suites feature either indoor or outdoor heated cave pools. There is a small outdoor pool for shared guest use. Excellent blue-dome location, but privacy varies by suite.

Canaves Ena – Oia

The Superior Suite and Honeymoon Suite have private, outdoor, jetted plunge pools, and the two-bedroom Grand Suite has a private open-air plunge pool. The River Pool Suite features a unique indoor/outdoor, jetted pool shaped like a river. There is also a partially shaded outdoor infinity pool for all guests.

Canaves Epitome – Oia

All suites and villas have private, outdoor, heated plunge pools or swimming pools facing the sunset and sea, not the caldera. The main shared pool offers all-day food and drink service. This is one of the best choices near Oia for pool privacy and space.

Canaves Oia Suites – Oia

All suites feature private outdoor plunge pools, except the Infinity Pool Suite, which has a private outdoor infinity pool. The River Pool Suite has an indoor/outdoor jetted pool shaped like a winding river. The largest suite is the 3-bedroom villa with infinity pool. The Executive Suite has a covered cave-style plunge pool. Shared pools include a pool with a recessed cave section and attached jacuzzi, plus a shallow infinity pool with sunken sunbeds over the caldera.

Canaves Sunday – Oia

The Honeymoon Suite has a private outdoor hot tub, and the Master Suite has a large private heated infinity pool. Onsite, there is also a shared infinity pool overlooking the caldera. A small, polished, quieter Canaves option.

Charisma Suites – Oia

The Charisma Windmill Suite has a private outdoor hot tub, Charisma Pool Suites have heated private plunge pools, the Charisma Cave Pool Suite has a private covered heated pool, and Honeymoon Suites have private outdoor hot tubs. There are also two larger infinity pools for shared guest use, including one with a bar and complimentary sparkling wine at sunset. Strong for sunset views near Ammoudi.

Domes Novos – Oia

All suites include a private, outdoor, heated pool. The shared main pool is also heated. There is a second shared pool in the spa and a shallow pool in the kids club. A good newer resort-style choice near Oia, especially for families who want space and private pools.

Esperas Hotel – Oia

The two-bedroom Cave Suite has a private outdoor hot tub, while the two-bedroom Esperas Suite and the Superior Suite feature private plunge pools. There are two Honeymoon Suites, one with a private outdoor hot tub and one with a plunge pool. Guests can also use the common outdoor pool with shaded cave area and poolside bar.

Gabbiano Traditional Cave Houses – Oia

One apartment has an outdoor jacuzzi with caldera views on a private balcony. A simple, traditional choice if you want Oia character and a private hot tub without a full resort setting.

Ikies – Oia

Eleven suites have private hot tubs on their caldera-view terraces. There is also a small shared pool for all guests. Ikies is one of the best intimate Oia hotels if you want charm, quiet, and a more personal feel.

Katikies – Oia

My favorite hotel in Oia. Most rooms and suites have private outdoor hot tubs on terraces with caldera views. The Master Suite and some Honeymoon Suites have private outdoor plunge pools. Facilities include three shared infinity pools onsite, one heated and two cool, all with caldera views.

Katikies Kirini – Oia

Most suites have some type of water feature. The Wet Junior Suite has an outdoor jacuzzi, while the Superior Suite has an indoor jacuzzi. The Honeymoon and Master Suites both have larger outdoor plunge pools. The Kirini Suite has both an outdoor plunge pool and an indoor jacuzzi. Hotel facilities include an outdoor heated infinity pool above the caldera and an indoor heated cave pool in the spa.

Maregio – Oia

All suites and the villa have private, heated, outdoor, jetted plunge pools with sunset views over Ammoudi Bay, not the caldera. The Premium Suite’s pool is cave-style. There is also a shared main pool next to the restaurant. Excellent for sunset lovers.

Myst – Oia

Supreme, Delight, and Junior Suites all have outdoor jacuzzis on their private terraces. The property is built around a large infinity pool shared by all guests. This is more countryside/sunset than caldera-cliff Oia.

Mystique – Oia

Wet Allure and 2 Senses Suites have private outdoor hot tubs, and Spiritual Suites have both indoor and outdoor hot tubs. The Mystery Villa has a private infinity plunge pool, and the Secrecy Villa has an infinity plunge pool and outdoor hot tubs. For all guests, there are two infinity pools, both with bars and sun decks. One of Oia’s best luxury choices.

Oia Castle by Art Maisons – Oia

All accommodations include either a private outdoor hot tub or a heated indoor/outdoor cave pool. Guests also have access to the shared outdoor swimming pool at Aspaki Exclusive Suites next door. Best for Oia castle and sunset-area atmosphere.

Oia Spirit Boutique Residences – Oia

Most suites have indoor or outdoor plunge pools with views of the blue domes and caldera. There is also a picturesque shared cave pool with windows carved all around offering views to the domes and caldera. Great for photos, but check privacy carefully.

Old Castle – Oia

All suites except the Junior Suite Sea View have some type of water element with sunset views over Ammoudi Bay, not technically the caldera. Most have an outdoor jetted plunge pool, heated seasonally. The Cave Junior Suite has an indoor hot tub with a window facing the sea. The Master Suite and Infinity Pool Suites have larger seasonally heated pools. There is also a shared seasonally heated pool for all guests.

Perivolas – Oia

Deluxe Suites feature either a private outdoor hot tub or infinity pool. Perivolas Suites have private infinity pools. There is also a shared infinity pool for guest use. Understated, elegant, and one of Santorini’s original great boutique hotels.

La Perla – Oia

The Senior Suite has a private outdoor plunge pool. All other suites have private outdoor jacuzzis. Every suite has a caldera view. The main shared pool is next to an all-day pool bar. A solid Oia choice if you want views and central access.

Saint Hotel – Oia

All suites have private, heated, jetted outdoor plunge pools. The Element Suite’s plunge pool is cave-style, while the Saint Suite’s plunge pool is the glass-front infinity style shown above. The One Saint Villa has a large heated jetted private pool. The shared main pool and spa pool are both heated. Modern, stylish, and very romantic.

Santo Pure – Oia

Suites have either a private outdoor hot tub or heated pool. The Royal Suite and all villas have both a private outdoor hot tub and heated pool. The property has five outdoor pools spread throughout the grounds, plus one heated pool in the spa. Spacious and sunset-facing, but not on the caldera cliff.

Santorini Secret – Oia

All suites include either a private hot tub or private heated outdoor pool. The two-level Junior Villa sleeps six and has a private heated outdoor pool. There is also a shared outdoor infinity pool with pool bar. Good for couples who want to be right in Oia with caldera views.

Sophia Oia View – Oia

All rooms and suites have a private plunge pool. Superior Cave Rooms can have an indoor plunge pool or outdoor cave plunge pool. All others have open-air outdoor plunge pools, though the Suite’s outdoor pool is partially shaded. Strong blue-dome and caldera views, but check privacy carefully.

White Pearl Villas – Oia

All villas except one feature a water element: indoor or outdoor hot tubs, indoor or outdoor cave pools, plunge pools, or some combination. There is also a shared pool with a caldera view for all guests. Good for Oia privacy, though each villa varies.

Fira Hotels with Private Pools

Fira is best if you want a private pool or jacuzzi with easy access to restaurants, nightlife, shopping, buses, taxis, and ferry-port or airport connections. It is busier and less romantic than Imerovigli or Oia, but much more practical.

Anatoli Hotel & Spa – Fira

The One-Bedroom Apartment at this moderately priced hotel has an outdoor hot tub on its spacious furnished terrace. There is also a large shared pool with an attached jacuzzi and kids pool. Better for value and convenience than caldera drama.

Aria Suites (villas only) – Fira

All villas have an outdoor private plunge pool. Some also have an indoor cave pool. The villas are a one-minute walk from the hotel, which also has a large swimming pool for all guests. A good option for families or groups who want space in Fira.

Aroma Suites – Fira

The Honeymoon Suite and Cave Suite offer indoor jacuzzis. The property also offers a private villa for four about one km away with an outdoor jacuzzi above the caldera. Check the exact room carefully, as the jacuzzi experience varies.

Athina Luxury Suites – Fira

My favorite hotel in Fira. The Honeymoon Suite, Royal Suite, and Cave Suite all have private outdoor hot tubs. The Grand Cave Suite sleeps four and has two hot tubs, one indoor and one outdoor. There is also a swimming pool with swim-up bar and sun deck for all guests.

Enigma Apartments & Suites – Fira

Four Jacuzzi Suites feature terraces with built-in jacuzzis. Suites are one or two-bedroom and can accommodate two to six people. Good central location, good views, and a practical Fira base.

Eternity Suites – Fira

All suites at this moderately priced hotel have a private jacuzzi. The Cave Suite and Large Cave Suite have indoor jacuzzis, while the Suites, Honeymoon Cave Suites, and Couple Cave Suites have outdoor jacuzzis. Views from the outdoor jacuzzis are mostly inland or of the hotel itself; higher floor suites may have a glimpse of the sea, not the caldera.

Ethos Vegan Suites – Fira

All five suites have private outdoor hot tubs that operate seasonally. The Superior Suite’s hot tub is on a rooftop sun deck. This is a niche but useful Fira option for travelers who want a small, thoughtful, plant-based hotel.

Kamares Apartments – Fira

All apartments except the Standard Room include outdoor hot tubs on private terraces with caldera views. A good midrange choice if you want views, simple self-catering space, and central Fira convenience.

Katikies Garden – Fira

All suites except the Junior Suites feature outdoor private heated jacuzzis or unheated pools. About half of all suites have a caldera view from their jacuzzi or pool. There is also a large shared rooftop pool with caldera views. Stylish and central, but confirm your specific room view.

Keti Hotel – Fira

The King Suite has a private outdoor hot tub. This is one of the better-value private hot tub options in Fira if you want caldera views without a full luxury-hotel price.

Mythical Blue – Fira

All suites feature a private plunge pool or jacuzzi. Deluxe and Junior Suites have outdoor jacuzzis with caldera views, while the Senior Suite has both an indoor jacuzzi and a heated outdoor plunge pool with caldera views. Honeymoon and Executive Cave Suites have indoor jacuzzis. There is also a shared pool and sun deck.

Villa Murat – Fira

This four-bedroom/four-bathroom villa offers a private, heated, jetted plunge pool with incredible views over the caldera and volcanoes. The villa can accommodate up to eight adults and four children. A strong option for families or groups who want privacy in Fira.

Imerovigli Hotels with Private Pools

Imerovigli is the best village in Santorini for private pools with caldera views. The views are higher, wider, and more dramatic than in Oia or Fira, and the village is quieter. If you want the best mix of romance, view, and private terrace time, Imerovigli is the best choice.

Above Blue – Imerovigli

Most suites have a private outdoor jacuzzi. The Lagoon Suite has an indoor jacuzzi, and the Golden Echo Suite has both an indoor and outdoor jacuzzi. The villa has an outdoor private plunge pool. All guests have access to the outdoor main pool. A good Imerovigli choice with a wide range of price points.

Absolute Bliss – Imerovigli

Some Classic Double Rooms and the Elegant Suite have private outdoor hot tubs, while the Honeymoon Suite has both indoor and outdoor hot tubs. The Absolute Luxury Spa Villa has a private heated outdoor pool, plus an indoor bathtub and steam room. There is also a shared outdoor swimming pool. Romantic and good value for Imerovigli.

Amber Light – Imerovigli

All suites have either a private outdoor hot tub or pool. The villas have an outdoor pool or indoor hot tub. The shared main pool has a shallow kids pool connected to it. Views are more open and quiet than central Imerovigli, but not always classic front-row caldera.

Andronis Concept Wellness Resort – Imerovigli

All suites have private, heated, infinity plunge pools. Villas have one or two private outdoor heated pools, or a private heated pool and outdoor jacuzzi. Facilities include three shared pools onsite: an unheated lap pool, a heated cave pool, and a heated infinity pool with caldera views. Best for wellness-focused travelers who want luxury and space.

Astra Suites – Imerovigli

Honeymoon Jacuzzi Suites have private outdoor hot tubs, Pool Suites have private heated swimming pools, and both private villas feature a swimming pool and outdoor jacuzzis. There is also an outdoor heated infinity pool with pool bar for shared guest use. One of my favorite hotels in Santorini.

Atoles Retreat – Imerovigli

Each suite has a private, heated, outdoor plunge pool on the caldera. The villa has two indoor hot tubs and an outdoor heated infinity pool with caldera views. A small, stylish hotel with strong private-terrace appeal.

Cavo Tagoo Santorini – Imerovigli

All accommodations include a private indoor or outdoor hot tub, or a private pool. Trendy, glossy, and more scene-y than most Imerovigli hotels, with excellent views and strong pool appeal.

Chromata – Imerovigli

The Superior Jetted Tub Suite and Honeymoon Suite have indoor hot tubs. The Two-Bedroom Villa, Chromata Pool Suite, and Master Pool Suite feature private pools. The Chromata Jetted Tub Suite has both an indoor and private outdoor jacuzzi. There is also a shared pool and sun deck with pool bar for guest use.

Cocoon Suites – Imerovigli

All suites have private outdoor hot tubs or heated plunge pools, either open-air or cave-style. Good for dramatic cave-suite design and caldera views, though some pools feel more enclosed than open.

Divine Cave Experience – Imerovigli

All suites feature large outdoor private hot tubs. Divine and Cosmic hot tubs are open to the sun, while the rest are cave-style and covered. Guests also have access to a shared main pool with bar/restaurant service and a heated indoor pool in the spa. Best for travelers who like dramatic spa-style rooms.

Ethos Vegan Retreat – Imerovigli

All four villas at this boutique property have heated outdoor plunge pools on spacious private patios or rooftops. Views face east toward the sunrise. A quiet, plant-based retreat rather than a classic caldera hotel.

Galaxy Suites & Villas – Imerovigli

All suites have a private outdoor open-air jacuzzi or a heated plunge pool that can be open-air or covered. Villas have both an indoor jacuzzi and an outdoor heated pool. All guests have access to the hotel’s shared swimming pool and infinity pool with caldera views.

Grace Santorini – Imerovigli

My favorite hotel in Imerovigli for a true luxury splurge. All accommodations, aside from a few Deluxe Rooms and Junior Suites, feature personal outdoor heated plunge pools. The two-bedroom Villa has a private steam room and indoor hot tub, plus a private heated outdoor swimming pool with outdoor fireplace and gazebo. There is also a large outdoor infinity pool with pool bar for shared guest use.

Iconic Santorini – Imerovigli

The Caldera and Cave Suites have private outdoor jetted tubs. The Grotto Suite has an indoor heated cave pool. Iconic and Cliff Suites have both indoor and outdoor hot tubs. There is also a shared outdoor infinity pool for guest use. Great for romantic cave-style rooms with caldera views.

Kapari Natural Resort – Imerovigli

Many rooms have private indoor jacuzzis. The Kapari Up & High Suite has a large private outdoor jacuzzi, while Honeymoon Suites have indoor jacuzzis plus a steam room or second outdoor private jacuzzi. A few suites have access to semi-private jacuzzis, where two or three suites share one jacuzzi. All guests have access to the main pool overlooking the caldera. Check the exact wording carefully before booking.

Kivotos – Imerovigli

All rooms, suites, and villas feature some type of water element: outdoor hot tubs, one or two outdoor heated plunge pools, outdoor heated cave pools, outdoor hot tubs plus indoor heated pools, or outdoor heated plunge pools plus indoor heated pools. There is also a shared outdoor heated infinity pool with a glass front next to the pool bar. Bold design, strong privacy, and great views.

Remezzo Villas – Imerovigli

Junior and Superior Suites are available with private outdoor hot tubs. The Pool Suite features a private heated plunge pool. There is also a shared pool and sun terrace. Classic Imerovigli views and good character.

Sophia Luxury Suites – Imerovigli

All suites feature either an indoor or outdoor plunge pool. The Superior Honeymoon Cave Suite has both a large indoor cave pool and an outdoor plunge pool with caldera and sunset views. Dramatic room designs and strong views, though privacy varies by suite.

The Vasilicos – Imerovigli

Four suites of the hotel’s seven have heated private outdoor plunge pools on their terraces, all with sweeping caldera views and two sun loungers. The remaining three suites share a heated main swimming pool and sun terrace overlooking the caldera. Small, refined, and one of the best boutique choices in Imerovigli.

Vora – Imerovigli

All three spacious villas have their own stylish outdoor hot tubs perched on the caldera’s edge. Excellent for couples who want privacy, design, and one of the most dramatic small-villa settings in Imerovigli.

West East Suites – Imerovigli

All suites come with a private pool or hot tub. The Infinity Pool Suite has both an indoor hot tub and a large outdoor infinity pool. Great views, but check whether your pool is fully private or part of a swim-out-style setup.

White Hotel – Imerovigli

Superior Suites have private heated jacuzzis or private plunge pools on shared terraces. Deluxe Suites feature private heated jacuzzis on private but visible terraces. The Cream Suite has a large private terrace and private heated pool. The Pearl Honeymoon and White suites have private terraces and private heated jacuzzis. There is also a large outdoor pool and heated indoor pool for shared guest use.

Windmill Villas – Imerovigli

Between Oia and Imerovigli: Hotels with Private Pools

This stretch is best for seclusion and views, not village atmosphere. You’ll need a rental car, taxi, or hotel transfers for meals and exploring.

Aenaon Villas – between Oia and Imerovigli

Villa Elidami features a private plunge pool. There is a shared outdoor infinity pool for guest use. One of the best hotels in Santorini for privacy and wide-open views, but not walkable to much.

San Antonio Hotel – between Oia and Imerovigli

Senior Sea View Suites have indoor hot tubs, Superior Sea View and Honeymoon Suites have private outdoor hot tubs, and Master Sea View Suites have both indoor and private outdoor hot tubs. There is also a shared outdoor infinity pool. Romantic and secluded, but not convenient without transfers or a car.

Firostefani Hotels with Private Pools

Firostefani is a great choice if you want caldera views, a quieter base than Fira, and easy walking access to restaurants, buses, and nightlife. Private pools here are small plunge pools or hot tubs, but the views can be excellent.

Anteliz Suites – Firostefani

My favorite hotel with private pools in Firostefani. There is one suite with private pool and caldera view. There is also an outdoor swimming pool and hot tub for shared guest use. A quieter, more central alternative to Oia and Imerovigli.

Dana Villas & Infinity Suites – Firostefani

Junior Pool Suites, Cave Pool Suites, and Superior Pool Suites all have private, heated, outdoor infinity pools of some type: cave pools, river pools, or open-air pools. Top-tier suites and villas, including the Cave Pool Villa, Honeymoon Pool Suites, Honeymoon Pool Villa, Grand Pool Villa, Master Pool Villa, and Infinity Pool Suite, add indoor cave-style jacuzzis. The largest villa, the Infinity Pool Villa, has two outdoor heated private pools and two indoor cave jacuzzis. The hotel also has a shared swimming pool and shared jacuzzi near the restaurant and sun terrace. One of the strongest private-pool hotels in Firostefani, but room categories vary a lot.

Mill Houses Elegant Suites – Firostefani

Many suites and some studios offer private outdoor hot tubs with sweeping caldera views. Good for travelers who want Firostefani views without top luxury prices.

Sun Rocks – Firostefani

The Honeymoon Suite and Exclusive Cave Suite both have indoor jacuzzis. The Sun Rocks Suite has a private, partially covered cave pool with caldera views. There is a shared pool on the main terrace next to the restaurant. Adults-only feel and good for couples.

Pyrgos Hotels with Private Pools

Pyrgos is not a caldera-cliff village, but it is one of the best areas for private pools with more space and better privacy. It works best with a rental car. Views are panoramic island, sea, vineyard, or village views, not classic volcano-and-caldera views.

La Bellezza Eco Boutique – Kamari

All suites have private outdoor hot tubs. Apartments all have private pools with hydrotherapy jets. Good value in Kamari, especially if you want beach-town ease over caldera views.

Istoria Hotel – Perivolos

My favorite beachfront hotel in Santorini. Four suites feature private heated pools or hot tubs. There is a large shared pool with an attached jacuzzi, as well as a private serviced beach space right across the road.

Orabel Suites Santorini – Perivolos

Danae Suites – Finikia

Magma Resort – Vourvoulos

Most rooms and suites have private outdoor hot tubs or heated plunge pools. A long pool wraps around the pool bar and main restaurant. A heated indoor pool is in the spa. A resort-style option in Vourvoulos, not a caldera-view hotel.

Nous – Mesaria

Bungalows have private outdoor jacuzzis, while Pool Bungalows, Suites, and Deluxe Suites have private heated swimming pools. Nous’ shared heated main pool is the largest on the island and has an attached jacuzzi. The spa has a second heated indoor/outdoor pool and a cold plunge. One of the best resort pools on Santorini, but this is a central inland stay, not caldera.

Sophia Boutique Hotel – Finikia

All rooms have a private outdoor heated plunge pool on their private terraces or rooftops. Some terraces and pools are not directly connected to the rooms but are just a few steps away. There is also a beach-inspired shared pool near the bar. Good value near Oia, but not a caldera-cliff hotel.

Final Advice

A private pool in Santorini is worth it when the room has a good view, real privacy, and water you’ll actually use. For the classic honeymoon experience, look at Oia, Imerovigli, or Firostefani. For the best views, choose Imerovigli. For the most famous setting, choose Oia. For convenience, choose Fira. For more space and privacy, choose Akrotiri, Pyrgos, or a villa-style hotel.

Before booking, confirm these five things with the hotel: is the pool heated, is it a plunge pool or full pool, is it visible from public areas, does the room itself have the view shown in photos, and how many steps are required to reach it? Those answers matter more than the phrase “private pool” on a booking page.
