Booking a hotel with a private pool in Mykonos sounds easy, but the details matter. A “private pool” might mean a small plunge pool, a jetted hot tub, a cave-style pool, a semi-private sharing pool, or a proper infinity pool with sea views. It also does not always mean full privacy. In Mykonos, “private” usually means the pool is for your use only, not that nobody can see you.

I tell people to check four things before booking: pool type, heating, privacy, and location. It also helps to understand the best places to stay in Mykonos, because a private-pool suite near Mykonos Town feels very different from one above Elia, Ornos, Psarou, Agios Ioannis, or Kalafatis.

• Pool type: Read the room description carefully. “Private pool,” “plunge pool,” “outdoor jacuzzi,” “hot tub,” and “sharing pool” are not the same thing. Hotels sometimes use the language loosely, and room categories can vary a lot within the same property.
• Heating: Many private pools in Mykonos are not heated. If you are visiting in May, early June, late September, or October and actually plan to use the pool, confirm heating in writing. Jacuzzis and small plunge pools are more likely to be heated than larger infinity pools, but never assume.
• Privacy: Private does not mean secluded. Many private pools are visible from neighboring terraces, upper walkways, restaurants, or pool decks. For the best privacy, look at top suites and villas rather than entry-level private-pool rooms.

Cavo Tagoo – Mykonos Town

Cavo Tagoo is the most famous private-pool hotel in Mykonos, and for many travelers it is the dream version of the island: sunset views, whitewashed design, a glamorous pool scene, and suites built dramatically into the hillside above the sea. It is close to Mykonos Town but not inside the old town, so you get easier access without sleeping in the pedestrian maze.

Most rooms, suites, and villas have an outdoor jacuzzi or pool. One of the Two-Bedroom Suites and the Orlinski Villa have cave pools. The Three-Bedroom Platinum Villa has the heart-shaped pool shown above. The hotel also has a large shared infinity pool near the lounge.

Best for: couples, luxury travelers, sunset views, nightlife, and a scene hotel.

Watch out for: privacy varies. The cave-style pools are spectacular, but some are more visible than travelers expect.

Deos – Mykonos Town

Deos is one of the best choices if you want private-pool luxury near Mykonos Town without the louder, showier feel of Cavo Tagoo. It sits above Chora with huge sea views, strong design, and easier access to town than most remote luxury hotels.

Lovia – Mykonos Town

Ostraco Suites – Mykonos Town

Ostraco Suites is a relaxed boutique hotel just outside Mykonos Town. It is not as flashy as the big luxury names, but it has charm, good service, and some good private jacuzzi and pool options.

Deluxe Sea View Rooms, Suite Sea View, and the Two-Bedroom Sea View Suite have private outdoor jacuzzis. The Honeymoon Suite Sea View has a heated private infinity pool. The main pool is also heated and open to all guests.

Superior Spa Rooms, Garden Suites, Luxury Junior Suites, and the Executive Suite Sea View have outdoor jacuzzis. The Semeli Suite has two outdoor jacuzzis. The Executive Pool View Suite and the Two-Bedroom Spa Room have indoor jacuzzis. Facilities for all guests include two outdoor pools, one heated and one cool, plus one jacuzzi.

Best for: nightlife, shopping, restaurants, and travelers who want to walk around Mykonos Town.

Myconian Korali – Near Mykonos Town

Myconian Korali is a high-end Relais & Châteaux hotel on the hill above Mykonos Town. It has superb views and excellent service, but the walk back from town is steep. Book it for the terrace and view, not for flat walkability.

Mykonos Riviera is an ultra-modern 5-star hotel above the New Port at Tourlos. It is not in Mykonos Town, but it works very well for ferry convenience, sea views, polished service, and short stays.

The hotel has a wide range of rooms, suites, maisonettes, and retreats with private pools, outdoor jacuzzis, or sharing pools. The top villa has multiple infinity pools that can be heated on request. All guests can use the main heated infinity pool and the indoor thalassotherapy pool in the spa.

Watch out for: the port location is practical rather than romantic. Use the SeaBus or transfers for Mykonos Town.

Belvedere Hotel – Mykonos Town

Delos Junior Suites, Delos Premium Junior Suites, Cyclades Suites, and Ortigia Suites have both jacuzzis and private pools. Oria Superior Rooms offer sharing pools, which are semi-private pools shared with neighboring rooms of the same type. There is also a sea-view saltwater pool for all guests.

Myconian Kyma – Megali Ammos

Myconian Kyma is a sleek, upscale hotel above Megali Ammos, good for views, design, and access to Mykonos Town without being in the densest part of Chora.

About half of all room and suite types offer a private outdoor jacuzzi, pool, or both. Aegean Rooms, Paragon Suites, and Sunset Suites have private outdoor jacuzzis, while Horizon Superior Rooms have private pools. Ornos is the best beach area for families and one of the safest private-pool choices for first-timers. You get a protected bay, restaurants, buses to Mykonos Town, and seasonal water taxi access to the south-coast beaches.

Santa Marina – Ornos

Santa Marina is the most complete resort in Mykonos and the best choice for families who want private-pool luxury without giving up beach access. It has its own private sandy beach, a full resort setup, a spa, restaurants, and villas.

All 12 villas have either a private pool or an outdoor jacuzzi, but lower tier rooms do not. The Mykonian Cottage has a private outdoor jacuzzi, while the Luxury Seaview Suite and Two Bedroom Luxury Seaview Suite have private outdoor pools. Adults have access to a saltwater pool, while the main pool and attached jacuzzi are open to families with children.

Most rooms and suites feature a private outdoor hot tub or plunge pool. Junior Suites and Design Suites offer outdoor hot tubs. VIP Junior Suites have private pools. Kivotos – Ornos

Kivotos is an established luxury hotel in Ornos with an art-filled, boutique-resort feel. It works for couples and families who want Ornos convenience but a more individual hotel than the big resort brands.

Many suites and all villas offer private pools in a variety of styles. Above is the Two Bedroom Suite with Pool. The Signature Suite 130 has a glass infinity pool. The Mykonos Honeymoon Luxury Suite is the only one with an outdoor jacuzzi. Guests can also use the hotel’s two infinity pools, one saltwater and one freshwater, with attached jacuzzis.

Best for: Ornos luxury, couples, families, and travelers who want a hotel with personality.

Watch out for: the style is more eclectic than minimalist.

Myconian O – Ornos

Myconian O is one of the strongest Ornos choices if you want beach access, modern design, and private-pool room categories in a polished resort setting.

All ground-floor rooms and suites, about half of the hotel’s total accommodations, have private pools. There are also two shared pools: an outdoor pool by the bar and restaurant and an indoor cave pool in the spa. The hotel offers direct access to the beach.

Honeymoon Suites and the Friends & Family Suite offer private outdoor jacuzzis. The Blanc Pool Suite has a private pool. The resort also has a beachfront saltwater pool and direct access to Ornos Beach.

Mykonos Cactus – Ornos

Mykonos Cactus is a good-value Ornos option, close to the beach and more relaxed than the luxury resorts.

Executive Suites have private outdoor jacuzzis. Guests can also use the hotel’s main pool next to the bar and restaurant.

Best for: value, Ornos access, and travelers who want a small hotel.

Watch out for: private pool options are limited.

Portes Suites & Villas – Glastros, Near Ornos

Portes is between Mykonos Town and Ornos, better for travelers with a car or those happy using transfers. It is not a true beach hotel, but it can be a practical base.

Superior Suites and Three-Bedroom Villas have either an outdoor jacuzzi or private pool. The Two-Bedroom Villa has a private pool. All guests can use the hotel’s main pool.

Best for: families, groups, value, and travelers with a car.

Watch out for: it is near Ornos, not on Ornos Beach.

4. Platis Gialos Beach Hotels with Private Pools

Platis Gialos is one of the best beach bases in Mykonos. It has good swimming, restaurants, bus service to Mykonos Town, and seasonal water taxi service to Paraga, Paradise, Super Paradise, Agrari, and Elia.

Branco – Platis Gialos

Branco is a stylish beachfront hotel on Platis Gialos, best for travelers who want beach access, music, good food, and a polished beach-club atmosphere.

Two room types, the Honeymoon Sea View Rooms and Jacuzzi Sea View Suites, come with private outdoor jacuzzis. There is also a shared pool on the beach and direct beach access.

Best for: couples, beach access, Platis Gialos energy, and stylish stays.

Watch out for: private jacuzzis, not private pools.

Nissaki Boutique Hotel – Platis Gialos

Nissaki has one of the best positions between Platis Gialos and Psarou. It is close to two of the island’s most popular beaches, while still feeling like a proper boutique hotel.

Most suites have the option of booking with or without an outdoor jacuzzi or private pool. Myconian Grand Suites have direct access to a semi-private pool shared by a couple of other suites in the same category. There are three more pools for all guests to use: the main pool, a jacuzzi pool, and a freeform pool.

Best for: couples, beach access, Platis Gialos, Psarou, and sea views.

Watch out for: some pools are shared, not private.

Petasos Beach Resort – Platis Gialos

Petasos is one of the best hotels in Platis Gialos and a strong private-pool choice for families and couples. It has a great location between Platis Gialos and Psarou, strong facilities, and excellent views.

Most suites and villas have private outdoor infinity pools with sea views, while Outdoor Jacuzzi Classic Rooms have outdoor jacuzzis. Superior Rooms with Sharing Pools have semi-private infinity pools, each shared with one neighboring room. All guests can use the saltwater split-level infinity pool and outdoor jacuzzi.

Best for: families, couples, beach access, water taxi trips, and Platis Gialos convenience.

Watch out for: “sharing pool” categories are not private pools.

Palladium Hotel – Near Platis Gialos and Psarou

Palladium is one of the best-value luxury-ish hotels in Mykonos. It is not directly on the sand, but it is close to Platis Gialos and Psarou, and the service is consistently warm and personal.

The hotel has two main pools and several renovated suites with private pools. It is a good option when you want the private-pool experience near great beaches without paying beachfront prices.

Best for: value, service, couples, families, and access to both Platis Gialos and Psarou.

Watch out for: not a beachfront hotel.

5. Agios Ioannis Beach Hotels with Private Pools

Agios Ioannis is one of the best areas for couples and honeymoons. It is quieter than Ornos and Platis Gialos, has sunset views toward Delos, and feels more romantic. The tradeoff is fewer restaurants and less frequent transport.

Anax Resort – Agios Ioannis

Anax is a modern luxury resort in the Agios Ioannis area with sea views, private beach access, and a polished resort feel.

Most suites include some type of private outdoor water feature. Exclusive, Luxury, Anax, Anax 2 Bedroom, Exclusive 2 Bedroom, and Exclusive Maisonette Suites come with saltwater plunge pools. Luxury Beachfront Suites have outdoor jacuzzis. There are also two saltwater infinity pools and a large jacuzzi, all with sea views, available to all guests, plus a private beach.

Best for: couples, sunsets, modern luxury, and resort relaxation.

Watch out for: not much is walkable outside the hotel.

Katikies – Agios Ioannis

Katikies Mykonos is a stylish luxury hotel near Agios Ioannis, best for couples who want a polished, romantic stay away from the biggest beach scenes.

Almost all rooms and suites include an outdoor jacuzzi or private pool. There are also two infinity pools onsite available to all guests.

Best for: couples, honeymoons, style, and quieter luxury.

Watch out for: many categories have jacuzzis rather than true pools.

Mykonos Grand Resort – Agios Ioannis

Mykonos Grand is one of the best all-around luxury resorts in Mykonos for couples and families who want a quieter beach, strong service, and views toward Delos. It is less scene-heavy than Psarou or Cavo Tagoo, and that is part of the appeal.

Premium Garden View Rooms share a semi-private pool. Premium Jet Tub Sea View Rooms and Executive Sea View Suites have private outdoor jacuzzis. The following categories have private pools that can be heated on request: Suite with Private Pool, Deluxe Suite with Private Pools, Signature Suite with Private Pool, Grand Suite with Private Pool, and the Mykonos Grand Villa. There is also an enormous heated saltwater pool for all guests, a jacuzzi, and access to a private serviced beach.

Watch out for: Agios Ioannis is calm, not lively.

6. Agios Stefanos and Tourlos Hotels with Private Pools

Agios Stefanos and Tourlos are best for sunset views and ferry-port convenience. They are not the most romantic beach areas in Mykonos, but they work well for short stays, island hopping, and travelers who want easier port logistics.

Amyth of Mykonos Agios Stefanos – Agios Stefanos

Amyth is a stylish boutique option in Agios Stefanos, good for couples who want sunset views and a quieter base near the New Port.

All suites have a private pool or outdoor jacuzzi. The Delos Sea View Suite has a private outdoor jacuzzi. Aegean Sea View and Amyth Sea View Suites have private outdoor pools. Mykonos Riviera is the best hotel in Tourlos and one of the most practical luxury hotels on the island for ferry travelers. It overlooks the New Port and has polished facilities, a spa, and many private-pool categories.

Most rooms and suites feature private outdoor jacuzzis, pools, both, or access to a sharing pool. The Mykonos Riviera 8 Bedroom Villa has one large and two small infinity pools, heated on request. Two more pools are offered to all guests: the heated main infinity pool and the indoor thalassotherapy pool in the spa.

Best for: ferry convenience, short stays, spa, sea views, and polished luxury near the New Port.

Psarou is polished, expensive, and glamorous. It is best if Nammos, luxury beach clubs, calm swimming, and designer shopping are part of the appeal. If you want better value and easier beach-hopping, stay in Platis Gialos and walk to Psarou.

Mykonos Blu – Psarou

Mykonos Blu is my favorite hotel in Mykonos and one of the best private-pool beach hotels in Greece. It sits above Psarou, has direct beach access, and offers a huge range of room and villa categories.

Most room types include a private jacuzzi, pool, or sharing pool. The Deep Blu Villa and the Royal Blu Mansion have both outdoor jacuzzis and pools. The Luna Blu Suite has a heated indoor pool. At the heart of the resort, there is a large split-level saltwater pool and kids pool, plus direct beach access.

Best for: luxury, Psarou Beach, families, couples, beach access, and private-pool bungalows.

Watch out for: Psarou is expensive and scene-y. It is not a value beach.

AGL Luxury Villas – Agios Lazaros, Near Psarou

AGL Luxury Villas is a good choice for groups and families who want the Psarou side of Mykonos, but with more space and privacy than a hotel room.

Colours of Mykonos – Agios Lazaros, Near Psarou

Colours of Mykonos is a smaller, more residential option in Agios Lazaros, good for travelers who want private outdoor space near Psarou without booking a full luxury resort.

All suites and the Colours Residence come with private outdoor jacuzzis. Guests also share a larger outdoor pool.

8. Paradise and Super Paradise Hotels with Private Pools

Paradise and Super Paradise are for party-focused travelers. The beaches are beautiful, but the main reason to stay here is beach clubs, DJs, music, and not needing to commute after a long day or night out. Do not book these areas for quiet romance or family convenience.

Tropicana Hotel – Paradise Beach

Tropicana is the obvious hotel if you want the Paradise Beach party scene. It is more polished than many people expect, with good sea views and lots of pool categories, but the point of staying here is still nightlife and beach-club energy.

About half of all accommodations include a private outdoor jacuzzi or pool on sea-view terraces. There are also four pools, two infinity pools and two sea-view pools with bars, available to all guests.

Best for: party trips, Paradise Beach, groups, and travelers who want the scene at the door.

Watch out for: do not stay here expecting quiet.

Votsalaki Resort – Paradise Beach

Votsalaki is a practical choice near Paradise Beach if you want private-pool or jacuzzi options without booking one of the island’s most expensive luxury resorts.

Some Two-Bedroom Design Superior Apartments have private outdoor jacuzzis, while some Apartments have private pools. LYO Boutique – Super Paradise Beach

LYO Boutique, formerly Amyth of Mykonos Super Paradise, is the best-known hotel above Super Paradise. It is more polished and boutique than Paradise Beach Camping-style party stays, but the beach-club scene is still central to the location.

Many suites and all villas have private pools or jacuzzis. The Alcove Villa, Paradise Villa, Hideaway Villa, and Two Bedroom Villa have both outdoor jacuzzis and private pools. A gorgeous pool sits at the center of the property, open to all guests.

The Three-Bedroom Villa Calliope has two pools, while the Four-Bedroom Villa Calliope has three pools. The shared main pool is a 130-meter saltwater infinity pool. A smaller heated pool is in the spa.
