Booking a “private pool” in Mykonos can mean many things. It can be a small, unheated plunge pool, an outdoor hot tub, or a full-sized infinity pool. The level of privacy also varies dramatically. A pool may be private to your room, but not necessarily secluded – many are visible from neighboring terraces
Key Things to Consider Before Booking
• Pool Type: Confirm that it’s a full pool, a “plunge pool” (small, for dipping), or a hot tub.
• Heating: The vast majority of private pools in Greece are not heated. They will be cold outside of peak summer (July and August). If you are traveling in May, June, September, or October and plan to use the pool, confirm that it’s heated. In general, the smaller the pool, the more likely that it’s heated.
• Privacy: “Private” means it’s for your use only, not that it’s “secluded.” If you require true privacy, book the highest-end villas, like those at Cavo Tagoo, Santa Marina, or the Myconian Villa Collection.
1. Hotels Near Mykonos Town
This is the best location if you want to walk to the restaurants, shops, and nightlife of Mykonos Town (Chora).

Bill & Coo Suites
• The Vibe: A 5-star, romantic boutique hotel. It’s sophisticated, quiet, and known for its exceptional service and gourmet restaurant. It is a 10-15 minute walk to the edge of Mykonos Town.
• Private Pools: The top-level suites (Honeymoon Suites and the Bill & Coo Villas) feature beautiful private infinity pools with sea views. These are perfect for couples.
Cavo Tagoo
• The Vibe: Ultra-luxury, trendy, and a scene in itself. This is where you go to see and be seen. It has one of the most famous main pools and sunset bars on the island.
• Private Pools: This hotel is famous for its private pool suites. Options range from suites with private plunge pools to the iconic Cave Pool Suites. These are built into the rock, but be aware they offer less privacy. The top-end villas have larger, more private pools.
Deos Mykonos
• The Vibe: A brand new luxury hotel (also Myconian Collection) set on the hill just above town. It’s sophisticated and quiet, offering some of the best panoramic views over the old port and the Aegean.
• Private Pools: This hotel was designed with private pools as a focus. Many room types, from the entry-level “Delta” rooms to the larger suites and residences, feature private infinity pools or hot tubs looking out over the sea.
Myconian Korali
• The Vibe: A high-end Relais & Châteaux hotel on the hill just above Mykonos Town. It offers incredible views but is a steep walk back from town. Excellent design and service.
• Private Pools: Many of the best suites offer either a private pool or an outdoor jacuzzi. The pools are generally for lounging and soaking in the view, not for swimming laps.
Belvedere Hotel
• The Vibe: A chic, 5-star hotel located right in Mykonos Town. This is one of the best choices if you want to be in the absolute center of the action.
• Private Pools: Most rooms are standard, but the top-tier suites and the separate Belvedere Villa offer private pools. This is a good way to have a private oasis in the middle of town.
Mykonos Riviera
• The Vibe: An ultra-modern 5-star hotel with a sleek, nautical theme, built amphitheatrically overlooking the Tourlos port. It’s focused on luxury, spa, and panoramic sea views.
• Private Pools: This hotel has an extensive selection of rooms with private pools. Many suites, maisonettes, and retreats (like the “Elixir Pool Retreat” or “Marina Pool Suite”) feature private infinity pools, many of which can be heated on request.
2. Hotels at the Beaches – Ornos, Platis Gialos & Agios Ioannis
This is the best choice for travelers who want to be steps from the sand and sea. These beaches have many restaurants and are well-connected to Mykonos Town by bus. Ornos and Platis Gialos are connected with each other and several other southern beaches by water taxi.

Santa Marina
• The Vibe: The most exclusive and complete resort on the island, set on its own private peninsula in Ornos Bay. It has the only private sandy beach at any Mykonos hotel, a world-class spa, and the Buddha-Bar restaurant. Great for families and travelers who want it all.
• Private Pools: The standard rooms are in the main hotel, but the luxury suites and villas are scattered up the hillside. Many of these have private pools, from small plunge pools to large infinity pools, offering the best privacy on the island.
Mykonos Blu
• The Vibe: A classic, glitzy 5-star resort built like a Cycladic village on a hill overlooking the famous Psarou beach. It shares the bay with Nammos and attracts a jet-set crowd.
• Private Pools: This hotel has one of the widest ranges of private pool options on the island, from bungalows with private pools to waterfront villas with large heated pools. They even offer a suite with a private indoor pool. Be sure to check your room type, as they also have many suites with outdoor jacuzzis.
Myconian Ambassador
• The Vibe: A stunning Relais & Châteaux hotel set on the hill overlooking the popular Platis Gialos beach. It has a huge, beautiful main pool deck, an excellent spa, and a high-end restaurant.
• Private Pools: Many sea-view rooms and suites offer a private pool or an outdoor jacuzzi. The “True Blue” suites, for example, have fantastic plunge pools with great views of the bay.
Mykonos Grand Hotel & Resort
• The Vibe: A 5-star luxury hotel on Agios Ioannis beach (where the movie Shirley Valentine was filmed). It is quieter and more removed, with a focus on relaxation and service.
• Private Pools: This hotel has some of the best private pool suites. Many suites feature full, decent-sized infinity pools (not just plunge pools) with fantastic views across to the island of Delos.
Kove
• The Vibe: A super-stylish, 5-star boutique hotel just a 1-minute walk from Ornos beach. The design is modern Cycladic with natural wood and stone.
• Private Pools: This is a key feature of the hotel. Almost all the rooms and suites on the ground floor have their own private plunge pool. Upper-floor rooms have private outdoor hot tubs.
Anax Resort and Spa
• The Vibe: A newer, very modern 5-star resort in the Agios Ioannis area. It features a large main pool and impressive design.
• Private Pools: Many suites across different categories are equipped with private pools or jacuzzis, most with direct sea views.
Palladium Hotel
• The Vibe: A family-run 4-star hotel on the hill between Platis Gialos and Psarou beaches. Known for its incredibly warm and personal service.
• Private Pools: While it has two great main pools, the hotel offers several room types with private pools, including newly renovated suites.
3. Hotels on the Secluded Coast (Elia & Kalafatis)
This area is for travelers who want to escape the crowds and have a high-end, resort-style vacation. These beaches are more remote (a 20-30 minute drive from Mykonos Town) and much quieter.

Cali Mykonos
• The Vibe: An exclusive, 5-star luxury retreat in the quieter, more remote area of Kalafatis. The focus here is total privacy, wellness, and seclusion, far from the party scene. It has its own private beach and a massive 130-meter main infinity pool.
• Private Pools: This is a core part of the hotel. All suites and villas feature spacious private terraces and their own saltwater pools, most with full sea views. This is an excellent choice if you want a guaranteed private pool.
Panoptis Escape
• The Vibe: The pinnacle of the Myconian Collection, this is an all-villa property on the hill high above Elia Beach. It’s designed for extreme privacy and has a quiet, zen-like, boho-luxury feel.
• Private Pools: This is an all-villa, private-pool resort. Every villa and “retreat” features a private infinity pool or outdoor jacuzzi with commanding views of the sea.
Myconian Villa Collection
• The Vibe: The most exclusive of the group. This is the top-tier, all-villa property.
• Private Pools: As the name implies, all villas here have large, private infinity pools, 24/7 butler service, and the most privacy of any hotel on this list. This is the ultimate luxury choice.
