The 11 Best Hotels in Bodrum
1. Ha La Bodrum
Hotel phone: +90 252 316 5274
Based in an old Ottoman home, this delightful guesthouse is hidden behind stone walls along a quiet lane and is only a couple of minutes from all the facilities along the promenade of the western bay. As if from a glossy magazine, the exquisite rooms feature an old-world charm and elegant décor (including silk linen) – but accommodation is limited, so book ahead. Particularly romantic at night, the gardens are furnished with lemon trees, a library/lounge, a courtyard bar wrapped in bougainvillea, and alcoves with wooden tables and cushioned chairs.

2. Eskiceshme Bodrum Marina
Hotel phone: +90 252 316 2502
Close to the promenade and all its facilities along the western bay, this hotel is new and chic. Unlike the guesthouses crowding the surrounding backstreets, rooms offer a colorful flair, while those on the upper floor also provide views from balconies. Also appealing are the numerous guest areas with sofas and tables near the lobby and on the highest level. This hotel suits those who prefer something modern and well-designed rather than old and, perhaps, not as functional as the typical Bodrum guesthouse. Also, free parking and bicycle rental.

3. Comca Manzara Hotel
Hotel phone: +90 252 316 2012
On the invisible divide between a residential area and the tourist district around the eastern bay, the Çomça is designed like a Mediterranean village, with whitewashed walls, terracotta tiles, and quaint outdoor furniture. Some rooms face outwards, providing fabulous views of the streets and distant bay dominated by the castle, while others are alongside stone paths laden with bougainvillea. The very impressive amenities include two pools and several cafés/bars – and rates include all meals and drinks. It seems a little isolated but is only five minutes from the old town with its rocky beach and abundant amenities.

4. Ena Boutique Hotel
Hotel phone: +90 252 313 0708
As much a small resort as a large boutique hotel, the Ena is still charming and personable. It sits on a corner on the quieter eastern edge of the tourist district and is close enough to a residential area to offer a suburban vibe. Rooms feature likable old-style elegance and all have balconies/patios, and views of the whitewashed suburbia and distant bay dominated by the castle are among the best in Bodrum. The pool won’t get overcrowded and the rooftop bar/restaurant is particularly sophisticated. Only a short stroll from the old town and its rocky beach.

5. Su Hotel
Hotel phone: +90 252 316 6906
With so much charisma and serenity, this hotel attracts the same guests year after year (so book way ahead). Designed with white walls and blue doors so typical of Bodrum, there are also splashes of vivid colors along the sizable balconies and patios. The compact rooms and handful of larger suites are so charming, and many overlook the inviting pool surrounded by bougainvillea and the café adorned with quirky art. Yet this oasis is only a few minutes’ walk via quiet backstreets from the promenade along the western bay and all its facilities. Also close to the remarkably convenient bus station. Buffet breakfast included.

6. DoubleTree by Hilton Bodrum Marina Vista
Hotel phone: +90 252 313 0356
Almost hidden behind an unassuming café, this is the only resort in central Bodrum. Facing the promenade (with all its facilities) along the western bay, and directly opposite the main marina area, the amount of overall space is incredible. All rooms and suites are decorated and furnished in a divine combination of old-style charm and modern-day flair. Most feature a quaint balcony/patio overlooking the substantial pool surrounded by palms and sunbeds. Amenities unseen elsewhere in the town center include a fitness center, spa, and rooftop bar.

7. Artunc Hotel Bodrum
Hotel phone: +90 252 316 1550
Adorned with the blue and white so typical of Bodrum, the Artunç is petite, serene, and especially popular (so book way ahead). Rooms are lovingly decorated and many overlook the pool which is as large and appealing as those in much larger resorts. The citrus-tree gardens and inviting café are also particularly attractive. Opposite a park along a street rarely used by cars, the guesthouse is only a brief walk from the old town, the rocky beach overlooking the castle, and the remarkably convenient bus station. The free carpark at the hotel is a bonus for some.

8. Costa Maya Bodrum
Hotel phone: +90 252 316 4741
Unlike its sister hotels around Bodrum (including the Costa Marina), this is nicely distant from the nightclubs and traffic, but still only a brief stroll from all the cafés, bars, and shops along the promenade of the western bay. More designed for younger packaged-tour groups, the modest but comfortable rooms feature sizable balconies/patios and are in small whitewashed blocks. As well as the appealing rates and position, the other attractions are the pool (with children’s section attached) and free carpark. And it’s with walking distance of the remarkably convenient bus station.

9. Bodrum Stone House
Hotel phone: +90 531 511 2323
This hotel is wonderfully positioned along the traffic-free backstreets of the western bay but is only minutes from the seemingly endless facilities along the marina – and within walking distance of the remarkably convenient bus station. Rooms are simply furnished but comfortable enough, and all feature spacious living areas that can convert to second bedrooms for two children. Other rooms also have balconies/patios and kitchens. With space and gardens not possible at other traditional guesthouses in the area, it also provides a decent-sized pool and delicious Turkish-style breakfast (usually included).

10. Istankoy Hotel
Hotel phone: +90 252 316 4187
Along a shady street on the invisible border between the eastern tourist district and an interesting residential area, the Istanköy is substantially large. It offers three types of accommodations: compact, sunny rooms overlooking the sizable pool (which can get noisy); motel-style rooms at the back; and, best of all, apartments nicely distant from the pool and road and ideal for families. Admirably utilizing its limited space, the hotel also provides a shady café, poolside bar, and an elevated deck especially for sun-bathers. Only a short stroll from the old town filled with amenities and the small rocky beach overlooking the castle. Buffet breakfast included.

11. Double Inn Marina
Hotel phone: +90 (252) 316 1655
This brand new, petite, and likably funky hotel along the promenade could not be closer to all the amenities around the western bay. Yet, it’s surprisingly quiet because a surrounding wall shields it from traffic and pedestrian noise (and also blocks any sea views). Rooms may be compact, but all are comfortable and feature balconies/patios – and most face lawns and gardens which are almost unheard of in this area.
