This swish resort is a standout in Kuşadasi which can seem a little old-fashioned in places. Much bigger overall than the outside suggests, all rooms are plush and spacious, and most overlook the substantial pool and shady gardens. Other likable amenities include a cake shop, games area, and two bars – one alongside the pool and the other featuring live music nightly. Not as isolated as others further along the esplanade, the PALOMA faces the marina with its cluster of classy bistros and bars and is an easy minibus trip from the delightful old town and heavenly Ladies Beach.

The Hilton is far more stylish than other hotels close by and not nearly as isolated as newer ones further along the esplanade. Rooms to the front directly face the marina, and even those to the side still offer partial sea views across the park next door – and all feature full-length windows and substantial balconies. Surprisingly large and particularly shady, the pool is understandably popular, and the indoor pool, fitness center, and rooftop bistro add to the appeal. The hotel is among an upmarket area of cafés and bars and along the road outside, frequent minibuses head to the divine Ladies Beach and adorable old town.

The Derici looks a little outdated but is still quality throughout. Definite pluses are the pool, bar, and terrace restaurant, all on the rooftop and offering the area’s finest sea views. Another pool (indoors) is part of the impressive ‘wellness center’ which also features a Turkish bath, gym, and jacuzzi. Facing the sea and esplanade, which is packed with amenities, the hotel is just a few minutes on foot from the enchanting old town. Outside the front door, frequent minibuses also head to the bus station and heavenly Ladies Beach.

This hotel is superbly located at the top end of Ladies Beach on the southern edges of Kuşadasi. The exterior is fairly simple, but the apartments and suites – some with full kitchens and large balconies – are substantial (especially the penthouses). With an outdoor games area and elevated lounge deck offering sea views (but no pool), it’s designed for families and others staying a week or more (but can be rented nightly). The main advantage is the location: meters from the white sand and calm water, above a well-stocked supermarket, and along the minibus route to the lovely old town.

On a corner with an empty block behind, views from all rooms are excellent, although it is certainly worth paying more for one directly overlooking the sea just steps away. Also, the hotel faces the esplanade, along which minibuses frequently head to the lovely Ladies Beach. It is surrounded by nice cafés and bars and is within walking distance of the delightful old town. Rooms are unfussy but certainly comfortable and reasonably spacious. However, it’s really all about the location and rates, which are surprisingly lower and include breakfast.

Built on a rocky outcrop in 1964, Kismet is old-fashioned (in a good way) and certainly unique: e.g. the flourishing gardens are peppered with pines and the views incorporate the entire length of central Kuşadasi. Pleasant swimming and sunbathing areas have been crafted from the shoreline to offset the lack of a pool. Rooms feature balconies with the town’s most expansive views and are quiet because so few venture out this far. However, it’s not very isolated: only a short walk to frequent minibuses heading to the delightful old town and excellent Ladies Beach via the esplanade, which is filled with amenities. Otherwise, come for dinner and admire the sublime views.
