The 10 Best Hotels in Marmaris
1. 8 oDa Marmaris
Hotel phone: +90 252 413 6540
Offering something different and perfect for those with children, accommodations are actually in gorgeous old homes clustered in a secluded, elevated, and less touristy part of the old town. Some can accommodate up to seven people across three levels, and all include washing machines and fully-equipped kitchens. It’s so quaint – from the exquisitely decorated living rooms to the bougainvillea-covered terraces – and the wonderful views include the marina with all its cafés and bars only a few minutes’ walk away.

2. Casa de Maris Spa & Resort
Hotel phone: +90 252 321 0934
At a prominent junction in the newer and quieter part of the tourist district, the airy design and funky décor are particularly likable. It caters very well to all age groups – especially families who would appreciate the massive pool, kids club, playground, games room, and activities for all. Within a few minutes’ walk from the crowded beach, many rooms directly face the sea from the wide windows and well-sized balconies; even those to the side provide unobstructed views of the streets, parks, and nearby hills. Also along the route for frequent minibuses to the major shopping areas, old town, and bus station.

3. Halici Otel Marmaris
Hotel phone: +90 252 412 1683
Within a fascinating residential area, the impressive Halici Hotel is not isolated like others further along the bay. Among whitewashed buildings housing simple but comfortable rooms, each with a balcony, the very impressive facilities include two pools, a separate children’s splash area, gardens, and several café/bars. Designed for the younger set on packaged tours (but available to anyone), rates can include all meals and drinks. A short path alongside the canal leads to a beach, the esplanade packed with amenities, and frequent minibuses to the old town and better beaches further west.

4. Pasa Beach Hotel
Hotel phone: +90 252 417 4506
Part of a local chain that includes the five-star sister hotel, Grand Paşa, this hotel stretches between the main road (with shops and frequent minibuses to the old town) and the beach (lined with sunbeds, cafés, and bars). World-class amenities include two outdoor pools – one with a waterslide – and the heated indoor pool that’s part of the vast ‘wellness center’. Most of the spacious and nicely decorated rooms offer views of the sea just across the beachside cycling track and walking path. With special rooms accommodating four and rates inclusive of all meals, drinks, and amenities like the Turkish bath, it’s ideal for families.

5. Cettia Beach Resort
Hotel phone: +90 252 417 3366
The Cettia is ideally positioned between the main road – with its numerous amenities and frequent minibuses to the old town – and the beach, along which is a cycling track, walking path, and plenty of cafés and bars. With far fewer rooms and guests than neighboring resorts, it’s more personable, and judging by the soothing background music, library, and sophisticated bar/café, it’s less interested in the younger (and noisier) crowds. Typical of the area, the beach in front is narrow and overcrowded with sunbeds, but the location and good-value rates are the main attractions.

6. Grand Pasa Hotel
Hotel phone: +90 252 417 7227
Part of a local chain that includes the four-star Paşa Beach hotel, the Grand Pasa is unashamedly geared towards the younger packaged-tour crowd. Quietly positioned in a residential area backed by forested hills, it offers much more space than rivals: e.g. the pool is truly massive and has a waterslide for adults as well as kids. Rooms are spacious and comfortable and with rates including all meals, drinks, and amenities like the Turkish bath, it’s such great value. Along the main road a few minutes away are a beach, a few amenities, and frequent minibuses to the malls, old town, and bus station.

7. The Beachfront Hotel Adult Only 16 Plus
Hotel phone: +90 252 412 2560
Smaller, more affordable, and likable than nearby mega-resorts, the Beachfront features whitewashed walls typical of the old town but sadly absent in this tourist district. With a pool that’s surprisingly quiet (possibly because it’s too shady for some), the canny design ensures that the comfortable and spacious rooms provide direct or angled views of the magnificent bay from private balconies. What’s more, the location is ideal: near the main road (with shops and minibuses to the old town and bus station) and facing the quiet beachside path lined with tempting places to eat and drink. Rates can include all meals and drinks, but note: the hotel is adults only.

8. Sunset Boutique Hotel Marmaris
Hotel phone: +90 252 412 8686
Featuring whitewashed walls and a narrow entrance typical of the old town, this enchanting guesthouse is so attractively designed and thoughtfully decorated. All rooms (two of which are suitable for families) feature antique wooden ceilings, locally-made decorations, and gorgeous bathrooms with mosaic tiles. Some face the marina and extensive bay, while one directly overlooks the amazing castle – and the views from the rooftop terrace/bar are among the finest in Marmaris. Just a few steps up from Amigos Restaurant at the marina.

9. Mets Boutique Hotel
Hotel phone: +90 252 412 0900
A little hard to find among the winding narrow lanes in the upper part of the old town, the Mets ticks all the right boxes: exterior with whitewashed stone walls, Mediterranean-style décor and design throughout, and a rooftop terrace offering jaw-dropping views of the marina and bay. Rooms (and the solitary Family Suite) are furnished in an unfussy but appealing way, and the staff is genuinely caring. The busy marina and bazaar are close by, but the hotel is located in a quiet area. Look for the sign to the attached High Side (Hillside) Restaurant & Bar from alongside Café Dé Dubai at the marina. Note: the hotel is for adults only.

10. City Hotel Marmaris
Hotel phone: +90 252 412 9783
Easy to miss among residential apartments, this hotel is much more appealing than the simple name suggests. Rooms are practical and compact without feeling cramped, and each features a balcony that provides extra space and more light. The pool is a pleasant surprise while inviting wicker chairs and a hammock fill the garden porch. For the budget-conscious, it offers excellent value and includes a Turkish-style breakfast spread. Along the esplanade close by is the city beach and frequent minibuses that head to better stretches of sand and the old town.
